Child Find

Do you know of a child who is struggling in school?

All school districts have a comprehensive process to assess and identify needs of students who are at risk of failure in school. Child Find is a continuous process of public awareness activities, screening and evaluation designed to locate, identify, and refer as early as possible all children with disabilities who might be in need of services through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

To receive Special Education services from your school district, children must meet the eligibility guidelines according to the IDEA. For more information about this process, parents can contact their local school principal or use the State of Ohio web site for special education resources at www.edresourcesohio.org.
